Bestway to Sleep this Summer
If you don't know by now, I'm not like a regular mom. I'm a cool mom! Obviously, I gotta do cool mom stuff over the summer and one thing my kids always want to do is go camping. Unfortunately, we are currently living about 3 miles from the sun's surface and it is a billion degrees outside. Luckily for my kids, as previously stated, I am a cool mom. What do I do? Pull out our camping tent, push our couch out of the way, and set it up indoors.
How cute is this! It even has a built-in pillow. We travel a lot and often end up staying with family when we are visiting and I have slept on several airbeds. I can't tell you the amount of time I have spent blowing up a bed with an external pump, or worse yet, losing the pump and trying to blow one up with a hairdryer... anyone else? I know I am not alone in that. Or worse of all, waking up on the floor because the bed slowly leaked air over night. That was not the case with this airbed and I am hopeful that it will be with us for many future sleepovers.
All 3 of the kiddos and soooo many stuffies fit perfectly, along with one giant dog that wholeheartedly believes he is a tiny lap dog. I can't even tell y'all the excitement these kids had when they saw the setup and found out that we were doing an indoor campout. We really had the best time.
This also brought back so many memories from before we were parents. Hubby and I would drag our mattress into our living room and have sleepovers campouts in the living room, it was mostly so we could lay in bed and watch tv but it was always so much fun.
If you have never done this, it is something I highly recommend. Although you might not want to go all out and set up a huge tent (ours has been up for a week now because I am less motivated to take it down and pack it up than I was to set it up and start the fun). We have done this before with a blanket fort and I am always down for a fun fort-building party, or just getting an Airbed out and decorating as little or as much as you want. There is something almost magical about doing these random silly acts and I hope that is a tradition that my kids carry on as they get older.
