The Zoo with Who?
This week I took the kids to the Little Rock Zoo to meet up with one of our friends from Jonesboro. Honestly I was pretty worried about how we would do since they out number me and Max is a runner but I made it back home with all three kids and no news story about a kid that fell into an animal exhibit. I'd call that a huge win!
I didn't tell the kids who we were meeting at the Zoo but of course Maddison being the smarty pants that she is, guessed exactly who right off. She was excited and kept saying that she hopes "her boyfriend" is who we are meeting at the zoo. Luckily we were able to make it all the way there with no fussing or fighting between the kids.

Got to watch this Grizzly bear splash around in the water and then come out to finish eating its orange, even offered the kids a bite. Seriously though, it came up to the glass and hung out with us for awhile and the kids loved watching it eat and seeing it's long claws.
It's still hot and humid at 10 am here so we took multiple breaks to rest and drink water, and of course eat some goldfish and animal crackers. Totally appropriate snacks for the zoo! 😉
Even had to take a lay down in the shade break.
Oliver had it made in the shade in his Ergobaby 180 stroller. He loved strolling around looking at everything and with the large canopy sunshade it was nice and cool for him.
Loved sitting and watching the Zebras and Emu eat and walk around. They were even playing in a water mister in the back. Gotta stay cool in the hot August heat.
We stopped at every single one of these photo booths. Maddison loves taking pictures in these things and thinks they are so funny. She likes to embody the characters... I'll save you from some of the weirder pictures we took with the elephant and zoo member booths... Have I mentioned that we are a very un-photogenic family..?
All in all, we had a great day! Max only tried to run away about 16 times, luckily between Christina and I we were able to keep him safe and out of the exhibits!!! It was a fun way to end out summer vacation and get ready to start back at school. We are sure going to miss our pre-K friends but we know that we will stay in contact and make these fun trips throughout the year. So grateful for the fabulous people that we met and the love that we share for our kids and their friendships. Huge thank you to the wonderful Angel Christina who made the 2 hour trip one way and helped chase my kid around all day in the heat!!! Can't wait to do it again, but maybe on a cooler day.
