Easter 2019

I love holidays. Like all holidays! I love getting together with friends and family and just having fun. If there is food involved, especially chocolate then that makes it all even better.

I swear that every year I say I'm not going to buy that much junk to put in the kids Easter Baskets and every year... I buy to much junk. Like, literally junk that I just end up throwing away within 2 weeks, so next year I vow to not buy a bunch of junk! Either way we had a lot of fun this Easter and did a few different egg hunts and it was so much fun to be able to watch all three of the kids run around and find eggs.

I got my wisdom teeth out on Friday afternoon so I missed Maddison's school egg hunt but lucky for me, I was blessed with an awesome mom, one of Maddison's classmates mom always takes pictures of her and sends them to me when I am unable to attend an event that they have. It is the little things that make me feel so blessed by the people that we've met in our town.

Yes my child wears socks with her sandals because she doesn't like her feet getting dirty... but she is 100% okay with going outside and rubbing mud all over her..

We decided to do our egg hunts and baskets on Saturday so that we could save Sunday for the real meaning of Easter. Hubby would love to get rid of the egg hunts and junk all together but I really enjoy doing it and have fun so we just have it on separate days and make sure to teach the kids that Easter, like Christmas, is really about Christ and all he has done for us.

Maddison also got to bring home their class stuffed animal pet for the week so Lucky the Lion got to hunt for Easter eggs with us as well.

One thing that we always get in Easter Baskets are Chalk, bubbles, and some type of water toy. Then we spend a large portion of our day filling up both the front and backyard cement areas with chalk drawings, blowing bubbles until we are light headed and then spraying each other with water.

We even broke out some new bottles of paint and painted some pictures while Daddy and Oliver took naps. At the end of a long day Maddison and Lucky relaxed with a face mask... which she kept on only long enough for me to take the picture.. it was cold and slimy and she was not a fan at all!!!

Later we went and played at the park and went for a walk around the lake. The geese were out with their babies and we got to see lots of turtles on logs. Maddison even found a few pieces of trash that she picked up and took to the trash can because she's been very adamant about taking care of the Earth and cleaning up trash and Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

Sunday after Church we came home and went of the Resurrection story using 12 eggs that the kids helped me make up. They were not super pleased when we opened each egg and not one of them had candy in them... so they got some candy afterwards. I'd say for a 5, 2, and 1 year old it went pretty well!! I know that it is not an easy story to tell young kids and I'd highly recommend doing the 12 eggs story, it was fun and simple and as the kids get older we can go into more dept about the story and what happened and the true reason we celebrate Easter.

I'm so Thankful for our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and the sacrifice that they made for us. I know that Jesus died for my sins and that through him I can repent and be clean again, that because of him I can return to live with my Heavenly Father. I know that He loves each and every single one of us, because "..however late you think you are, however many chances you think you have missed, however many mistakes you feel you have made or talents you think you don’t have, or however far from home and family and God you feel you have traveled, I testify that you have not traveled beyond the reach of divine love. It is not possible for you to sink lower than the infinite light of Christ’s Atonement shines...His concern is for the faith at which you finally arrive, not the hour of the day in which you got there."(-Jeffrey R.
