You Lying Sack!

Have you ever yelled something at someone and then at that moment realize that it is clearly something you've always needed to yell at someone? Did I go through life thinking "I can't wait for the moment that I get to yell 'You lying sack!'" at someone? No. But when it happened it was absolutely evident that it was something that checked off a box in my life. Now I crave to yell it at someone in a non-game setting.

Game nights are my jam! We try to play family game nights at least once a week but often times it is multiple times a week if our schedules allow it. When we go on vacation I have a whole suitcase dedicated to games that we will play while away from home and of course a large purse with several good books for after-games.

Anytime that Tryazon has a game night opportunity I always apply, especially if that game night is by one of my family's favorite game companies Exploding Kittens. We love that they are always quick and easy to learn which is a big factor in our game nights considering my kids are all young. The games are always so beautifully done and many of them have comic books by The Oatmeal which are incredibly educational and hilarious!

Last weekend we got to try out the new game You Lying Sack, as well as Mantis and Zombie Kittens which is a variation of Exploding Kittens with a new twist.

You Lying Sack says it's ages 7+ but my 5-year-old was able to play and while we thought surely there is NOOO way he is hiding that many "bad things" in his hand... we were painfully wrong. That boy can fit a lot of "bad things" in his tiny fist!

It is a game that seems super simple but does still require thought and strategy to win. There is a spinning number board that increases each turn that tells you the number of "bad things" (red foam triangles) that you must grab or you can take the "good thing" (blue rectangle), then hold out your closed fist and ask each player one at a time if they would like what is in your hand.

My hand is full of bad things will you take them?

If someone says yes they get whatever is in your hand. If it is the "good thing" then they get to decrease the number of bad things in their pile by passing out the number that is on the die to the other players. If at the end of your turn, no one has taken what is in your hand then it is yours. If it is the "good thing" then you decrease your pile. When you get 10 bad things you're out.
